Brooklyn, New York, ND (1860s). $1, NY-340-G2, Proof Obsolete Banknote, Black printing on india paper that is not mounted, Incredible vignette of a Train Depot with Horse drawn trolleys at top with river scene and steamboat at dock, Young girl with an arm full of bunnies at right and arms of New York at left, POCs along bottom with a 3mm tear at the bottom left margin and 2 small holes near the left trolley in the middle, otherwise the note looks to be in Uncirculated to CU condition with 4 large even margins, The note last sold 19 years ago at an R.M. Smythe, Strasburg Auction for $1,495. We could find no other records of a proof banknote of this issuer being offered since then. Issued notes have been seen previously. AU-UNC condition. ABNC. (ex.R.M.Smythe, Auction 241, Lot 1512, Oct.22, 2004, and Haxby Plate Note).
