New York, NY, Ca. 1860's, Page from sample book with proof design elements and stamps used on banknotes, stocks, bonds and security documents on both sides. There are a total of 26 proof vignettes, text, denomination counters, letter heads, security underprints, borders and titles. Highlights include 1 cent, Henry A Clark, Proof Match and Medicine stamp with a small chip out of the left side; a red "Peru" seal with National Bank Note Co., NY imprint; A letterhead of the Mississippi River Jetty Works, New Orleans, Louisiana with map of the river with eagle on top; a large letter head of the National Bank Note Company - No. 1 Wall Street and numerous other proofs. All are rare or unique in this format. Condition ranges from VG with slight damage to XF. All have red numbers written on them referring to the printing plate number in case they needed to print from it. Unique Working Archival Production design page from National BNC which eventually was merged with American BNC.
