New Orleans Civil War Era Exchange and Check Pair. Lot of 2 Exchange Drafts, both date lined New Orleans, Louisiana. Includes Edm. J. Forstall, 1866, $19,949.24, “First Check”, Punch Cancelled, with ink burn and a few small holes, still very attractive check, ABNC; and August 16, 1862, Canal & Banking Co., Nautical View of Poseidon with trident; issued for £100.00, New Orleans was captured from the confederates the beginning of May 1862, this exchange was issued barely 2 months after its capture by the Union Army, Choice Fine with some staining, RWH&E, New Orleans. Scarce and attractive pair of exchanges.
