New Orleans, Louisiana, 1827. Fascinating and detailed correspondence from an agent in New Orleans, sent to Enoch Sibley, a business associate in Boston, Massachusetts. Handwritten, with interior printed and handwritten page listing specific details such as: Amount of Exports in Liverpool vs. New York, as well as the financial details for how much cotton and tobacco was sold for the month of March, vs the season total, vs the same period the year before. This document also includes the current prices for types of cotton (e.g. choice, good, poor), in addition to molasses, flour, and coffee. Fine condition with toning and a piece missing from back page at margin. Fascinating piece of shipping and merchant history with plenty to dive into.
