Lot of 4 Obsolete banknotes, Shelburne Falls, MA., $2 Shelburne Falls Bank; Lowell, MA., $5 Railroad Bank; Johnston, RI., ca.1830's, $3 Rhode-Island Agricultural Bank, Remainder, AU-Unc., RW and $5 Brown Scrip, Scam Lottery for non existent property. Monkton, VT Includes the Shelburne Falls note, altered from a $2 Southern Bank of Georgia, Bainbridge, GA. The Lowell note is altered from a $5 Erie & Kalamazoo R.R. Bank, Adrian, MI. The Rhode Island bank opened in 1823 and closed in 1846. The central vignette on the RI note is the Burning of the Gaspe 1772. The Unlisted Brown scrip is a scam or 'Ponzi Scheme', with a 5 ct. Washington Rev. stamp at the lower right. (4)
