Lot of 8 notes, Includes the Montgomery, AL. $2, Central Bank of Alabama; East Haddam, CT, $2, Bank of New England; Georgetown, DC, $3, Bank of America; Bainbridge, GA., $10, Southern Bank of Georgia; Millington, MD., $5, Commercial Bank of Millington; Adrian, MI., $5, Erie and Kalamazoo Rail Road Bank; Tiverton, RI., $3, Tiverton Bank; Nashville, TN., $2, Central Bank of Tennessee. The Central Bank of Alabama, opened in 1855 and failed in 1865. The Bank of New England note was altered from a $2 Pioneer Association of Lafayette, IN note. The DC note is fraudulent. The Southern Bank of Georgia was incorporated in 1856 and failed in 1859. The Millington, MD bank opened in 1832, closed in 1836, was revived in 1839, and ultimately failed. The Erie & Kalamazoo Rail Road Bank was incorporated in 1835, failed about 1841, revived in 1853, and failed again in 1854. The Tiverton Bank opened in 1855, and failed in 1857. The town of Tiverton changed its name to Fall River in 1857. The Central Bank of Tennessee opened in 1856 and failed in 1858. VG to Choice Fine condition. (8)
