Omaha City, Nebraska Territory, 18xx (ca. early 1860's), $5, (NE-65-G8), Native American “Progress” Vignette on lower left, young woman on lower right with Battle of Bunker Hill in middle, Proof printed in black with no underprints, back blank, printed on white planchetted paper with a portion of the upper note on top with large margins on the other 3 sides, Uncirculated to CU condition. Bald Cousland & Co. Scarce modern proprietary proof with notation “Int'l Silver” in pencil on top margin evidently referring to the ABN program where there would be a replica silver banknote with a reprint proof of the banknote to accompany it. This is not the paper it was printed on for the program and is rare in this format.
