Otsego, New York, 1871. Handwritten Letter with ornate and attractive dark green image of Hops pickers, addressed to A. R. Elwood, stating that the town of Milford in Otsego County, owns $60,000 in stock to the A & S R.R. (possibly the Albany and Susquehanna Rail Road Co). The author writes, "Some busy bodies are circulating a petition throughout the Town to have a special act passed so the commissioners can sell the stock at par." Some financial details are discussed, such as interest, and the author hopes that Elwood can "defeat this special act." The letter is marked as Confidential on the back. Fine-VF condition.
