Palestine. 20 April 1939, 1 Palestine Pound, P-7c, TBB 102c, Issued banknote, black on green border and yellow underprint, S/N N510880, three printed signatures of the Members of the signatures of the Palestine Currency Board at low centre (J. Calcutta, Sir Percy Ezechiel and H. F. Downie), reverse green, featuring the Citadel of Jerusalem with the Tower of David at center. Legacy Currency graded Gem New 65 PPQ, boasting full margins, attractive centering, nice embossing, and bold original colors. Despite the fact that the 1939 date is the most available of all four dates for the 1 Pound, of the nearly 700 examples graded by PMG to date, only two examples graded 65 EPQ, and a sole finer note graded 66 EPQ. In other words, the present lot is an opportunity that is not to be missed - to secure an exceptionally desirable condition rarity of a very highly collectible area.
