Lima, Peru, November 30, 1817, ecclesiastical financial document issued by the ArchicofradÕa de Nuestra SeÐora de la PurÕsima, associated with the Convent of San Francisco, black print with manuscript completion, featuring a finely engraved religious vignette of the Virgin at top center. The document records a dowry obligation of 500 pesos in favor of DoÐa MarÕa Luisa Pƒ (partially obscured), daughter of Don Luis P_rez and DoÐa Margarita Pizarro, to be paid upon marriage or entrance into a religious order. It outlines the legal conditions governing the dowry, including provisions for forfeiture or partial distribution in the event of death prior to fulfillment, with funds allocated for funeral expenses and remaining balances. Signed by church officials including the Mayordomo and Tesorero, with additional manuscript signatures below, and referencing entry in the Libro de Dotes (folio 129). This document illustrates the role of ecclesiastical institutions in managing personal wealth, family arrangements, and social obligations in late colonial Peru, immediately prior to independence. A scarce and historically significant pre-republic financial and religious document. The condition ranges from Choice Fine to VF condition or better.
