Russia, issued 50 Kopek scrip note, issued for the store of Peter Pikolaevich (sic.) Shimada, in the city of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur. Dated 1919 and part of a series of notes issued by this entrepreneur of Japanese descent for use in his store. The reverse reads "The person who presents this coupon, has the right to receive in the shop of P. N. Shimada goods for the amount of 50 Kopeks." Note that the paternal name "Nikolaevich" is misspelled on the obverse, and so is the word "cashier" next to the signature on the reverse. The Japanese left the Russian Far East in 1922. Original VF condition. Printed by the Yamamoto Tokyo Bindery.
