Phenix Bank $3000-$5000-$10,000 Denomination, ca.1830's Obsolete Proof Sheet.New York, New York, 18xx (ca.1830's), Uncut sheet of 3 banknotes, $3000-$5000-$10,000, all Plate A, ($3000, NY-1880-G126; $5000, NY-1880-Unlisted; $10,000, NY-1880-Unlisted), Proof banknote sheet, All are printed in black on india paper, The $3000 note has an ornate central counter with 3000 Denomination counter on top flanked by two Phoenix birds that look like eagles on upper left and right corners; the $5000 note has Phenix birds on the upper left and right corners with ornate counters on left and right; the $10,000 note has a Phoenix in the middle flanked by $10,000 denomination counters, The Sheet is somewhat aged with Small missing pieces and a tear in the $5000. Probably unique as a sheet. VF with condition issues, No imprint but probably Rawdon, Wright & Hatch engraving. A significantly impaired proof of the $10,000 denomination sold in the Ford VIII, Lot 1064 for $14, 950. This sheet has never been sold in auction or ever made a public appearance since it was printed in the mid 1830's. This is an extremely rare opportunity to own a major numismatic treasure that was not even know to exist a little over 2 years ago. (Silver City Collection, Part 1)
