Racine, Wisconsin, July 15th, 1858, $2, Racine & Mississippi Rail Road Co. (WI-686-SC8). Issued Obsolete Note. Farmer, sailor and hunter hold counter with '2' at left; ornate medallion counter with '2' at right. S/N 433, Choice VG to Fine condition due to toning and small edge faults on bottom left margin, This issuer was formed on March 29th, 1856, as a result of the business combination of the Racine and Mississippi Railroad Company and the Savannah Branch Railroad Company, and after a series of combinations and divestitures, ended up as part of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific lines. All of these scrip issues are rare; this is an issued example from the $125,000 issue which provided the bearer a call on the income earned by the segment of the road built between Beloit and Freeport. R-7 in Krause where a remainder of this note was in his collection. Rare and possibly unique issued.
