Cleveland, Ohio, 1859, Lot of 3 pieces, Railroad passes from 1859 along with handwritten correspondence on Cleveland, Gainesville & Ashtabula Rail Road Co. letterhead. The rail road passes are dated August 15, 1859, one is for the Buffalo & Erie Rail Road from Buffalo to Erie and the other is for the Cleveland & Erie Rail Road and the route from Erie to Cleveland. The passes are signed by the respective superintendents and whom the pass is made out to. Correspondence is to a Cousin Henry, as are the railway passes, and describes a pleasant trip to visit someone aside from the bad persistent cough the person had. The passes are, according to the letter, an ÒinducementÓ to have the cousin visit them in the winter as he told someone he would. VF to XF condition.
