New Jersey, February 18, 1793. One Share I/U Stock Certificate, S/N 18, Black text, Dark brown handwriting, Embossed company seal at left. VF condition. Issued to Thomas Neale. The Rancocus Toll-Bridge was initiated in Philadelphia to build a covered bridge over Rancocus Creek, which is a tributary of the Delaware River. Signed by Joshua M. Wallace as company president. Wallace was a political leader and an important figure in New Jersey history. He was a Burlington County Delegate to the New Jersey Convention that ratified the new U.S. Constitution in 1787.
