Austin, TX, April 23rd, 1841. Uncut sheet of 3 warrants, $50-$25-$25; Cr. AW4-AW3A-AW3A; Medlar 46-44-44; Olson 828-822-822. Naval Appropriation Certificates were actually used for the second Texian Navy after the first had lost all four of its ships by 1837 due to war and Mother Nature. S/N 339-677-678, Commodore Edwin Moore was the chief officer of the navy and had differences with Sam Houston which led to the issuing of these warrants to pay the men. The sheet has been pen cancelled with a large vertical "Cancelled" at center across all three notes. This is the first time we are offering this scarce sheet. Choice VF to XF with a small stain in the middle of the bottom note.
