Rhode Island. 1970-80s, Transition Certificate pair to Fleet Financial Group. Includes Industrial Bancorp transition certificate to Industrial National Corporation and the certificate for the Industrial National Corporation transition to Fleet Financial Group, Inc. Industrial Bancorp began as a regional bank focused on the Northeast, initially serving the industrial sector with essential financial services that fueled the region’s economic growth. As it expanded beyond its industrial roots, the bank rebranded to Industrial National Corporation, a shift that reflected its new breadth of services and growing customer base. In the 1980s, during a period of significant banking deregulation, the company rebranded again as Fleet Financial Corp. The name "Fleet" symbolized agility and ambition, underscoring the bank’s goal to extend its reach across state lines and offer a full suite of financial services, from retail and commercial banking to wealth management. Through a series of strategic acquisitions, including the high-profile merger with BankBoston in 1999, Fleet solidified its position as one of the largest financial institutions in the Northeast. This growth trajectory ultimately led to FleetBoston Financials' acquisition by Bank of America in 2004, a pivotal merger that contributed to Bank of America’s rise as a leading global bank. Fleet's legacy endures as a critical chapter in the history of American banking, exemplifying the industry's trend toward consolidation and the creation of modern financial giants. Both Uncirculated.
