Salem, NJ. Lot of 3 notes, All are July 4th, 1828 Dated notes, Includes $1, $2, $3, Wait 2137, 2140, 2141, R-5. All are Fine to Choice Fine condition, Salem & Philadelphia Mfg. Co. operated in the 1920's and was always in financial trouble. It probably failed around 1830. The word Salem is deliberately made small in order to have the note easily mistaken for a Philadelphia note. (3)
