San Francisco, California, 1867. $1000 I/C 7% Coupon Bond #277, Black text with gray border and pink undertint, Scene at top center of ships in bay. Paid stamps throughout bond and on coupons, Fine condition. Signed by Frank McCoppin, the first Irish-born, and foreign-born Mayor of San Francisco. He and the Board of Supervisors approved the plan for Golden Gate Park January 14, 1868. A small park, McCoppin Square, located in the Parkside District of San Francisco, is named in his honor, as are McCoppin Street in the Mission District and Frank McCoppin Elementary School, near Golden Gate Park.
