Richmond, Virginia, 1872. Handwritten letter, several pages long, from H. O. Hawley to the Singer Manufacturing Co. in New York. Black handwriting, Ford's Hotel imprint at top left corner on first page, last page is entirely taken up by a Ford's Hotel illustration and advertisement. Fine condition with toning and mounting traces. Singer Corporation is an American manufacturer of consumer sewing machines, first established as I. M. Singer & Co. in 1851 by Isaac M.
