Lot of 6 vintage stereo views documenting U.S. military activity and cultural scenes during and immediately after the Spanish American War, including Philippine-American War era images. Views include: Filipino men gathered around a cockfight titled “A Cock Fight, the Favorite Filipino Sport”; hand-colored patriotic card “Brave Boys in Blue Starting for Manila”; infantry drill of the Third U.S. Cavalry in the Philippine Islands; firing line of U.S. troops preparing an attack in dense brush; an official ceremony titled “Opening Prayer—Presentation of the Sword, Washington, D.C.” commemorating wartime service; and, a portrait stereo view of Admiral George Dewey, Hero of Manila, framed by flags. Images offer strong documentary value for uniform studies, early colonial-era Philippines, and Spanish American War iconography. Condition ranges Fine to VF condition or better with some showing scattered wear, edge rubbing, mild fading, and occasional soiling consistent with age. (6). Sold "AS IS" no returns accepted.
