2 pieces: Black and white photograph of Theodore Roosevelt giving his last open air speech in Oriole Park, Baltimore on Sept. 28, 1918, with former Maryland Governor Edwin Warfield and Frances Cleveland in the background at left. Photograph is 8.75 x 7 inches, and is mounted on paper with a green border, VF condition with slight damage at top margin; Also included is a small, 2 x 2 cm Pinback Pin, featuring Roosevelt at center, with "Our Next President" at top, and "Roosevelt" at bottom, also in VF condition. Theodore Roosevelt (27 Oct 1858 - 6 Jan 1919), also called Teddy, was an American statesman, conservationist, naturalist, historian, and writer, who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909. He previously served as the 33rd governor of New York from 1899 to 1900 and the 25th vice president of the United States from March to September 1901. Roosevelt emerged as a leader of the Republican Party and became a driving force for anti-trust and Progressive policies. He considered running for president again in 1920, but his health continued to deteriorate. He died in 1919, this photograph being an image of his last open air speech. Fascinating lot related to one of America's most well-known presidents. The pin back is rare.
