$50, Jefferson on top, ÒtemporaryÓ bond with ÒcherryÓ red color, highly embossed and retains three of the four original coupons. Unbeknown to most collectors, these temporary bonds are a subset of bonds that are amongst the scarcest; as once the 4th coupon came due they were exchanged at no cost to the ÒlongÓ bonds that resumed this series. The reverse in dark chocolate brown color features a classic American Bald Eagle and a strongly embossed Treasury Seal.
