New York, NY, January 15, 1861, 32 page magazine, 8.5 by 12 inches, lists prices for Uncurrent money and the amount of discount they will take off of currency, also lists coins, counterfeits, bonds, lists of different states currencies, advertising and miscellaneous information. In Fine condition with slight separation at the vertical fold of the outer page. Scarce and very informative information and an interesting perspective of what the banking industry was like before we had a centralized banking system in the U.S. The front page has an analysis of the news of January 10, 1861 from Wall Street, “Stock Market sustained, despite the bad aspect of the political state of the country, We can account for the firmness of the market only on the ground that the people generally believe in a settlement finally, of the troubles between the North and South.....The discrediting of South Carolina by the Georgia Banks, admonishes us to avoid the currency of seceding States....”.
