1860-1870's. Proof. 8 different proof vignettes of allegorical women. Titles include "Rose", woman with basket of roses; "National Emblems", topless allegorical woman, eagle sunrise scene; "The Death Blow",warrior American patriotic woman killing dragon; and, "Brittania", allegorical woman with trident and British shield. There are 4 additional that are untitiled including another variation of "Brittania". They include images of allegorical women in various scenes or poses. All are printed by ABNCo. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila card. All are in choice condition except that there is a black ink notation of "100" on the upper left corner of everyone of them. All are cut down large die proofs. Another attractive and rare group. Most of the vignettes are either unique or represented by only 2 or 3 in the archive. Choice group.
