1840-1860's. Proof. 8 different Large Die Proofs (LDP's) or cut down LDP vignettes printed on india paper. Mostly used on obsolete banknotes, checks, drafts or stock certificates. Images and titles include "Quicksilver" with men pouring mercury into container; 2 different color versions, orange and black, of same vignette of men pouring iron ingots; Man hammering large piece of iron near oven; "Rolling Mill" with men cutting iron pieces and other vignettes. Printers include CBNCo.; NBNCo.; BB&C; TC&Co. and unattributed (2). All vignettes in VF to XF condition with minor corner folds or bends far away from vignettes.
