Lot of 13 chromolithograph Christmas postcards, primarily used and postally cancelled, bearing 1¢ green Washington stamps with legible postmarks including New York and Ohio, dated 1908 to 1914. Publishers include a mix of American and European printers, with several embossed designs and divided-back issues. Subjects depicted include holly and clock motif with verse; angel with child holding wreath; robed angel walking through snowy landscape; oval vignette of two women with holly border; angel playing violin in winter scene; standing angel with star above village; trio of angels surrounding decorated Christmas tree; holly-framed winter harbor scene with ship; rural winter landscape with house and stream; Victorian-style children beside Christmas tree; domestic interior scene with mother and child; snowy countryside with figure on road; and stylized scenic landscape with holly and bells. The group reflects early 20th-century Christmas postcard production emphasizing angelic imagery, winter landscapes, and traditional holiday symbolism. Condition ranges from Good to Very Fine overall, with some cards showing corner wear, light creasing, or minor surface wear consistent with handling and postal use. The multi-figure angel tree scene, violin-playing angel, and holly-framed harbor composition are the strongest individual pieces in the grouping. (13). Sold ñAS ISî no returns accepted.
