ca.1860's-80's. 14 different war related vignettes including Civil War (10) or colonial related or other war vignettes (4). Most were used on obsolete banknotes, stocks, bonds and drafts. Printers include WBNC; NBNC.; ABNC; CBNC and RWHE. Titles include "On the March"; "Hospital"; "Volunteers Return"; ""Volunteers Depart"; "Mortar Molding"; "To Arms"; "The War Alarm"; "The Wounded Soldier"; "Wounded Soldier"; "Pro Patria Armatus" and others untitled. 2 different versions of one of the vignettes has micro-lettering with "F.O.C.Darley. Fecit" on the lower left. It has the image of a soldier drinking while speaking to a swordsmith or iron worker working on a saber. There is also a smaller version of the vignette of just the soldier and the horse. All of these are attributed to CBNC in 1855. All of the vignettes range from 1 to 3.5 inches in size. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila cards. One has light glue stains, otherwise a choice group. Please inspect. Rare group of early vignettes, some well known.
