Red specimen overprint, POC's and "00000" serial numbers, purple archival handstamp on top right corner. XF condition. Historic and important U.S. Federal Bond. Back has Department of the Interior letter date lined Washington, April 6th, 1894. Certificate. ?It is hereby certified that the United States of America have agreed to pay to the CHEROKEE NATION the sum of $8,300,000 in five equal annual installments beginning March 4th, 1895 and ending March 4th, 1899, with interest, payable annually, from March 4th, 1893?. in consideration of the purchase by the U.S.A. from the CHEROKEE NATION of certain lands known as the ?CHEROKEE OUTLET?. The rest of the text discusses that the payments were assigned to R.T.WILSON & CO., the last 4 annual installments amounting to $6,640,000?.?. The payments were assigned by WILSON to the UNION TRUST COMPANY OF NEW YORK as Trustee.
