1840-1850's. Proof. 22 different farming and agricultural related vignette proofs printed on india paper and mounted on manila cards with plate numbers on vignettes and cards. Mostly used on obsolete banknotes, checks, drafts or stock certificates. Images include horses plowing; husking corn; herding sheep; harvesting grain; pressing cider; shearing sheep and allegorical farming scenes. Printers include RWH&E (4); DW&Co. (3); TC&Co. (12) and 3 unattributed. All are in VG to choice condition with light glue staining and toning on one vignette. Almost all are unique in archive.
