1840-1850's. Proof. 6 different compound proof vignettes used on obsolete banknotes and miscellaneous security printed items. Each vignette sheet has 2 or more different separate vignettes. The 6 vignette sheets have a total of 14 different vignettes. Subject matter includes animals, buildings, eagles, sailing ships and miscellaneous. All were printed by BC&Co.. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila card with plate numbers at top of the card and on the india paper. All are cut down large die proofs. Some have light foxing or glue staining and one has internal wrinkles and tears, but mostly a choice group. Please inspect. Rare group of early vignettes. All are unique in archive.
