The auction will take place in our new office at 1580 Lemoine Ave., Suite 7, Fort Lee, NJ 07024
1830-1850's. Proof. 8 different compound proof vignettes used on obsolete banknotes and miscellaneous security printed items. Each vignette sheet has 2 or more different separate vignettes. The 8 vignette sheets have a total of 16 different vignettes or titles. Subject matter includes canals; railroads; alligators; navigation, state coat of arms; cherubs; allegorical women and portraits of notable men. Printers include TC&Co. (3) with the balance not attributed but printed by ABN predecessor companies. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila card with plate numbers at top of the card and on the india paper. All are cut down large die proofs. Some have light foxing or glue staining and 3 have small internal tears from mounting. Please inspect. Rare group of early vignettes. All are unique in archive.
