1830-1860's. Proof. 8 different proof vignettes used on obsolete banknotes and miscellaneous security printed items. Topics include patriotic allegorical woman with flag and cornucopia with coins; cherubs with cornucopia; patriotic allegorical woman and "Justice" with U.S.Shield; blacksmith with hammer and anvil; allegorical male with cornucopia and coins; knight slaying dragon and angel. Printers include TC&Co.; BC&Co.RWH&E. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila card with plate numbers at top of the card and on the india paper. All are cut down large die proofs. Some have light foxing or glue staining from mounting but overall a choice group. Please inspect. Rare group of early vignettes. Most are unique in archive or represented by only 2 or 3 examples.
