The auction will take place in our new office at 1580 Lemoine Ave., Suite 7, Fort Lee, NJ 07024
1840-1850's. Proof. 3 different scenes with Native Americans. Most were used on obsolete banknotes, stocks, bonds, drafts and book plates. Printers include RWH&E and BC&Co.. The vignettes range from 2 to 3.5 inches in size. Images include 1). "Weetamoe" pushing raft with pole; 2). Topless Native American woman holding bow and arrow with Geo. W. Hatch micro-imprint underneath as part of the design; 3). "Monument Mountain" with poem by W.C.Bryant. All are printed on india paper and mounted on manila card with plate numbers at top of the card and on the india paper. All are cut down large die proofs. There may be some light foxing or glue staining , but overall a choice group. Please inspect. Rare group of early Native American indian vignettes. All are unique in archive.
