Lot of 9 chromolithograph Easter postcards, primarily used and postally cancelled, bearing 1¢ green Washington stamps with legible postmarks including New York, Pennsylvania, and Illinois, dated 1909 to 1911. Publishers include a mix of American and European printers, with several embossed holiday greeting designs and standard divided-back issues. Subjects depicted include pastoral landscape with sheep in gilt frame; rabbit emerging from decorated egg with chick and clover; child feeding chicks in garden setting; Art Nouveau style profile with floral motifs; rabbit holding decorated Easter egg among flowers; rabbits pulling flower cart; rabbit driving toy automobile with eggs; farmyard scene with rooster and hen; and embossed Easter greeting with child and rabbit motif. The group reflects early 20th-century Easter imagery combining pastoral, religious, and whimsical themes popular in holiday postcard production. Condition ranges from Good to Very Fine overall, with some cards showing corner wear, light creasing, or minor surface wear consistent with handling and postal use. The rabbit in automobile scene and the gilt-framed pastoral landscape are the strongest individual pieces in the grouping. (9). Sold ñAS ISî no returns accepted.
