Amazing Federal Legal Tender banknote back proofs for Friedberg # 18, $1 1869 Legal Tender Note and Friedberg # 96, $10 1869 Legal Tender Note (1/2 inch of left margin missing a 1 inch by 1/3rd of an inch chunk). Both are mounted on NBNCo. Vignette sample page with a number of proof vignettes of bond coupons. Directly back to back with these two outstanding notes are 3 different 4th Issue fractional currency proofs, Friedberg 1257-1261, 10 cents Proof back in black, cut down to banknote size, left with large upper margin with plate number 1788 on top; Friedberg 1267-1271, 15 cents Proof front in black, cut down to banknote size, left with large upper margin with plate number 1789 on top; Friedberg 1301-1307, 25 cents Proof front in black, cut down to banknote size, left with small upper margin with plate number 1802 on top. Extremely rare and unique grouping. Definitely and exhibition item. Condition is fair and inspection is recommended, but still worthy of a high 4 figure bid. Unique proofs in archive. NBNC.
