Lot of 11 chromolithograph patriotic postcards, primarily used and postally cancelled, bearing 1¢ green and 2¢ red Washington stamps, with legible postmarks including New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, dated 1907 to 1911. Publishers include Raphael Tuck & Sons and other American and European printers, with several standard divided-back issues and patriotic series examples. Subjects depicted include portrait medallions of George Washington framed by flags and ribbons; Washington on horseback in military dress; WashingtonÍs Birthday commemorative designs with cherries and banners; Civil War memorial imagery with crossed flags and cannon; Independence Hall in Philadelphia; Washington taking command of the Continental Army; patriotic wreaths with flags and medals; and Washington alongside Mount Vernon imagery. The group reflects early 20th-century patriotic commemorative themes tied to WashingtonÍs legacy and national identity. Condition ranges from Good to Very Fine overall, with some cards showing corner wear, light creasing, or postal handling consistent with use. The Independence Hall example and the Washington taking command scene are the strongest individual pieces in the grouping. (11). Sold ñAS ISî no returns accepted.
