1862. Proof. Proof portrait of washington with flowery base and inscription "Act of 11th July 1862" and American BNCo. Imprint and plate number. Mounted on 11.5 by 9.5 manila file folder with notations "Die cancelled on Aug. 20th 1963". Evidently the vignette of washington was originally taken from a RWH&E die and altered for use on the bond. Notation on the bottom right of the 2nd page lists "Rawdon-549" which was the location of the original plate. Light foxing or glue staining. Unique in archive.
