ca.1830's-1880's. 14 different vignettes of Native Americans in various poses and scenes used on obsolete banknotes, stock, bonds, checks and security printed documents. The vignettes range from 1 to 4 inches in size. Titles include "Osceola" with the balance untitled. Scenes include indians ready to ax woman; Native American and eagle and many others. All are printed on india paper and mounted to manila file cards. Printers include WBNC; DWC; TCC; BCC; RWHE and unattributed. One scene with native Americans and allegorical women flanking oval with farming scene with steamboat has micro lettering of A.B.Durand on bottom and plate # V-40256. Condition ranges from VG to choice uncirculated condition. Please inspect. Extremely attractive and diverse group of early Native American vignettes.
