U.S., China & Mexico.... Lot of 2 medals. One is a Mexican Border Service medal for members of the United States Navy. Green, yellow, and green ribbon, Sword with "For Service on the Mexican Border" on obverse, Eagle on reverse with "United States Navy" at top. The Mexican Border Service Medal was a United States military award which was established by an act of the United States Congress on July 9, 1918. The medal was awarded for service between May 9, 1916 and March 24, 1917, or with the Mexican Border Patrol between January 1, 1916 to April 6, 1917. The medal recognizes those military service members who were assigned to the U.S.-Mexico border at the period of time when the United States was on the verge of all-out war with Mexico. Second medal is a China Service medal, yellow and red ribbon, Chinese junk depicted on obverse, reverse features eagle with "United States Marine Corps" at top. The China Service Medal was a service medal awarded to U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel. The medal recognized service in and around China before and after World War II. (2)
