Lot of 11 chromolithograph holiday postcards, primarily used and postally cancelled, bearing 1¢ green Washington stamps with legible postmarks including New York and New Jersey, dated 1907 to 1912. Publishers include a mix of American and European printers, with several embossed designs and divided-back issues, including examples with German-language greetings such as ñProsit Neujahr.î Subjects depicted include gnome figures adjusting a clock for New Year; winged figure with polar bear and ñgood luckî motif; floral clock wreath design; pastoral landscape with horseshoe and flowers; angel decorating Christmas tree; romantic reunion scene with soldier and family; child with basket of flowers at doorway; ornate ñ1904î New Year typographic design; patriotic floral arrangement with flags; ñ1907î gilt New Year design with bells; and rolling clock with forget-me-nots and New Year verse. The group reflects early 20th-century New Year and holiday imagery, combining symbolic timekeeping motifs, good luck emblems, and sentimental domestic scenes. Condition ranges from Good to Very Fine overall, with some cards showing corner wear, light creasing, or minor surface wear consistent with handling and postal use. The embossed 1904 and 1907 designs and the figural clock scene are the strongest individual pieces in the grouping. (11). Sold ñAS ISî no returns accepted.
