Lot of 34 Issued U.S. Revenue Imprinted Commercial Checks and Drafts drawn on National Banks and regional institutions, representing late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century banking, manufacturing, and industrial commerce. The group is dominated by checks from Merchants National Bank of Richmond, Virginia, with additional examples from First National Bank branches, Third National Bank, Boston National Bank, Titusville Savings Bank, Pima County Bank, and others, including instruments associated with iron works, insurance, and manufacturing firms. Designs feature engraved and lithographed layouts, prominent orange imprinted revenue stamps, manuscript entries, signatures, endorsements, and cancellations typical of period business use. Conditions range from Good to Very Fine overall, with expected folds, toning, punch cancellations, and handling wear consistent with active commercial circulation. (34).
