1830-1850's. Proof. 18 different schooner, sailboat and navigation vignette proofs printed on india paper and mounted on manila cards with plate numbers on vignettes and cards. Mostly used on obsolete banknotes, stock certificates, checks, drafts and security printed documents. Images include fleets of ships; the "Constitution"; Ship building; ships under full sail; ships in harbor; "1608" and ship sending landing party to Jamestown, Vitginia; ship printed from broken printing plate and other nautical vignettes with sailing ships. Printers include DW&Co.(1); BB&CCo.(7); TC&Co.(5) and RWH&E (5). All are in VG to VF condition with minor glue staining or toning and a couple with minor internal wrinkles or tears. All unique in archive.
