1840-1860's. 25 Different proof sailor or navigation related vignettes printed on india paper and mounted on manila file cards. Most are cut down large die proofs. Titled images include "Land Ho"; "Homeward Bound"; "Sailor & Cannon"; "On the Beach"; "Homeward Bound" (Different version with ship only); "The Yarn"; and, "The Capstan". Many of these are from obsolete banknotes and are familiar or even famous images. Printers include ABN; TCC; CBN; BCC; DWC; DBC; and, NBN. Most are very rare as proofs and possibly unique in this form. Choice group.
