Lot of 19 chromolithograph Thanksgiving postcards, primarily used and postally cancelled, bearing 1¢ green Washington stamps with legible postmarks including New York, New Jersey, and Vermont, dated 1908 to 1912. Publishers include a mix of American and European printers, with several embossed designs and divided-back issues typical of the period. Subjects depicted include Pilgrim-era Thanksgiving scene with figures at doorway; child leading large turkey; ornate harvest wreath with pumpkins and farm vignette; minimalist turkey vignette with verse; embossed greeting with fruit and turkey motif; whimsical child riding turkey; floral Thanksgiving greeting with violet tones; multiple turkey portraits in naturalistic settings; patriotic turkey with American flag; child herding turkeys in rural landscape; turkey beside proclamation document and harvest still life; laurel wreath framing turkey; gilt-background turkey with roses; coastal scene with ship and stylized turkey; pair of strutting turkeys; farmyard scene with child and chicks; and additional floral and harvest-themed compositions. The group reflects early 20th-century Thanksgiving imagery emphasizing harvest abundance, patriotism, and rural Americana. Condition ranges from Good to Very Fine overall, with some cards showing corner wear, light creasing, or minor surface wear consistent with handling and postal use. The Pilgrim scene, patriotic flag turkey, and embossed harvest wreath designs are the strongest individual pieces in the grouping. (19). Sold ñAS ISî no returns accepted.
