Washington, D.C., February 25, 1974, Lot of 4 Specimen, Series K, 6.80% Consolidated Bonds, All with Specimen overprints, POCs, Allegorical man and woman on left and right with large circular logo for the bank in middle, Includes $10,000, Red; $25,000, Blue; $100,000, Purple; and, $1,000,000 in gray-green, All have the back of the bonds in the same color as the obverse, all are in Choice Uncirculated condition or better. All include 3 attached coupons on the bottom. This is an extremely rare set of modern Federal bonds. The Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks, or FHLBank System) are 11 U.S. government-sponsored banks that provide liquidity to financial institutions to support housing finance and community investment. The FHLBank System was chartered by Congress in 1932, during the Great Depression. (4)
