New York and Philadelphia, PA., 1831, $1, Issued banknote, Washington on left, Cherub upper right, sailing ship on right and reclining allegorical woman at bottom center, The back has ornate border surrounding text “Sylvanus Lehman - Stock & Exchange Broker - No. 4 1/2 South Third St., Philadelphia”, Lehman died in 1835 at the age of 30 so this is a contemporary advertisement placed on the back of a possibly current banknote that he received. Peter Maverick engraving. Choice VF but a small 1 by 1/4 inch piece is missing from the top left margin.
