ND (ca.1919). 2 page Music Program from a Ford Sponsored program with autographs of 22 different people including Henry Ford, Edsel Ford, James Cousens (an industrialist who became Mayor of Detroit, and then a US Senator from Michigan. In 1903, he was one of the initial business associates of Henry Ford involved in founding the Ford Motor Company). David Friday (was president of the Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) from 1922 to 1923), Edgar Albert Guest (was a prolific American poet who was popular in the first half of the 20th Century and became known as the People?s Poet). Albert Kahn (the foremost American industrial architect of his day. He is sometimes called, the architect of Detroit. Kahn designed Ford Motor Company's Highland Park plant, begun in 1909 where Ford consolidated production of the Ford Model T and perfected the assembly line. Gordon MacGregor and Windsor banker John Curry held a series of meetings with Henry Ford, culminating in the incorporation of the Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, on August 17, 1904. This autographed music program came from the granddaughter of one of the guests at this performance. During World War I, her grandfather Jacob Schapiro was in the Army and that he was part of a corps that helped industries convert to wartime production. He was sent to the Middle West and one of his assignments was to work with the Ford Motor Company. She believes this is a program from a Musicale at the Plant. Extremely rare and historic document. Signatures of Henry Ford, Edsel Ford and most of the others are very bold and clear. The program has been mounted and is glued to the top front of each page. The left side of the program has a large Bass fiddle and lists the program. The right side of the program has the Ford Motor Company logo and images of children with stage curtain. Appears Fine to VF. Very probably unique. This is the first time it has been offered for sale or auction.
