Unique Photograph Album Conveying the Experience of One World War II Veteran Stationed in the Philippines. Over 300 photos, mostly black and white 4 inches by 5 inches, mostly original, though some “stock” photos are included as well. The album begins with about two dozen pictures of graphic female images painted on bombers and fighter planes –“Pappy’s Passion,” “Daisy May,” “Satan’s Baby” and others. Further subjects include artillery pieces, bombers in action, soldiers parachuting, downed Japanese planes, burned out hangars, native Philippine population, war damaged buildings in Manila, large format aerial recon photos and much more. The album is bound between wooden covers, and the front cover, entitled “Philippines”, is hand carved.
