Famous Players-Lasky went on to even greater success in the '20s, a decade during which the studio bought up hundreds of movie theaters across the country. In 1927, the studio's name became "Paramount Famous Lasky Corporation". The early years of sound proved to be a difficult time at the studio, which in 1930 again changed its name to "Paramount Publix Corp". It reorganized in 1935 under the name "Paramount Pictures, Inc". A government action against Paramount caused the company to split into two companies in 1949, the Paramount Pictures Corporation for production and distribution and United Paramount Theatres, Inc., for theater operation. These are the certificates designed for the breakup of Paramount Pictures, Inc. SBNC. Choice group.
